Alyssa Gaudet
My name is Alyssa and I am a grade 11 student at William Aberhart High School. I’m in the French immersion program and have been since kindergarten. In my future, I hope to become a French immersion math teacher. I play ringette all winter, field hockey in the spring, I have a part time job in retail, and everywhere in between I do dog shows. I’m 16 years old and I have my license and driving is one of my newest hobbies =). I have been showing dogs for 3 and half years now. My family owns Shiba Inu’s and I have recently acquired an English Setter from Sevenoaks Kennels. Her name is Sevenoaks Casablanca Royale “Cassy”. Although she is not a champion yet, she has 6 Best puppy in groups and 2 Best Puppy in Shows! I’ve shown a variety of different breeds that have all helped to me aquire my handling abilities thus far. Since I’ve worked for Natasha, I’ve learned a ton about grooming different coat types which is also very helpful in the dog show world. I have been very successful in my show career to date, with 2 Puppy Shows, 6 Puppy Groups, Group 1, 2 Group 3 and Group 4, and many, many, junior handling placements. I am grateful that I have so many people that have helped me with my handling and tell me things to improve on. My favorite breed to show is a setter (all types), but I am always willing to try showing new breeds to challenge me.
